The 26-year-old actor and model, who is deaf and communicates with sign language, ended the night in first place on the TV dancing competition with his partner Peta Murgatroyd.
The #DeafTalent activist is breaking down misconceptions about the deaf community, and bringing awareness to the general public that people with hearing loss are able to participate in activities in which having the ability to hear may have previously been thought of as a necessity.
“I’m ready to take the world by storm and have them look at me and say, ‘deaf people can dance,’ ” he said on the show, through an interpreter.
